XVIII Congress Flight Costs


NOVEMBER 5th

Departure from Europe or America. Arrival in the afternoon or the evening to Santo Domingo. Installation at the Hotel. Free night to rest... but probably welcome reception and meeting with Dominican hosts.

NOVEMBER 6th

Departure to Santiago (160kms from Santo Domingo) by bus. Visit to the magnificent just inaugurated Art Centre for the Caribbean, "Centro Leon". Lunch offered by the Centre. Exhibitions and permanent collections, services, etc. Return to Santo Domingo.
Reception-dinner at the Museo Bellapart, specialised in Dominican art,
Masters immigrants, a large collection, very well organised indispensable to know the evolution of the national painting and sculpture, during a century.

NOVEMBER 7th

Visit of the Colonial historic City of Santo Domingo, or (and will be difficult) to the art galleries and parallel exhibitions -at the last Caribbean Biennial there were 52! -
Lunch offered by Contemporary Art Gallery Carmen Rita Perez or by the French Embassy.
About three free hours, but the hyper-actives will continue the program of art visits. May be an excellent pre-Colombian collection, Foundation Garcia Arevalo, beautifully museographed.

OPENING OF THE V CARIBBEAN BIENNIAL AT THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART.
Special dedication to the AICA members. Visit of the Caribbean representations.
Reception.

NOVEMBER 8th

For those who flight is in the afternoon, travel to the Art and Design School (Parsons School filial) of Altos de Chavon (110kms) and its lovely village. Lunch offered by the Foundation Altos de Chavon, and direct transportation to the Airport (85 kms).

Flight to Barbados.
