The first International Award for Public Art was announced today in Shanghai, China, in the presence of professionals in the field from around the world.
The award went to Tiuna el Fuerte Cultural Park, by Lab.Pro.Fab, Caracas, Venezuela, a self-initiated project by Alejandro Haiek Coll and Eleana Cadalso.

In 1985, the City of Paris gave Pontus Hulten the task of creating a graduate school for research in contemporary art. Its antecendents were to be the Weimer Bauhaus School and Black Mountain College in the U.S., and it was meant to function as an alternative to Paris's École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts.

The XLVI. AICA International Congress is organised by AICA Slovakia, on the theme, White Places – Black Holes. It will be preceded by an optional Pre-Congress Hiking tour in the High Tatra mountains (20 - 22 September), or Pre-Congress Architectural tour (21 - 22 September) and followed by a Post Congress in Krakow, Poland (29 September - 1 October).
